Greener Acres Farm:  Last Week to Stock Up on Beef!!

Last Week to Stock Up on Beef!!

This is your LAST WEEK to stock up on the great 10 lb package of Clover Creek Cheese Cellar’s Grassfed Beef for $62.15. (You will still be able to purchase the beef in single units until it is gone)

Raw milk will be returning hopefully sometime in Mid to Late March.

Limited amount of Pork Products still available.

Hand gathered, RAW HONEY, available. Get it before it is all gone. Not heated or diluted, simply crushed and stained. Studies show that local, raw honey helps with seasonal allergies.

Market News

Hello!

It is good to be back this week! We have an amazing selection of vegetables for you this week! It is truly a bounty of a harvest for February, and we hope you all are as excited to see our yummy selection as we are! We’ve got lots of good greens – kale, mustards, spinach , lettuces, as well as carrots and beets and other yummy treats.

We also have flowers this week – organically grown in Tally’s hoophouse.

There is so much good stuff – remember to stock up! We are still on an every other week schedule, so now is the time to get your meats, eggs, and veggies for the next couple of weeks.

We are so grateful to be able to feature two of Nashville’s premier food purveyors – The Bloomy Rind Artisan Cheese Selection and Dozen Bakery fine baked goods. These are small independent local businesses that work hard and provide amazing high quality products. We are glad they are a part of our Fresh Harvest community.

Thank you so much for all your support!

See you Wednesday!
John and Tallahassee

Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  Still Testing

Good morning!

The market is open as usual, and will remain open for your orders till Tuesday at 10 pm. Please be sure to read the section of the page entitled “Important Ordering and Pickup Information.”

Farm News of the Week

From Richard Brooks of Triple B Farms:
Crusader Coffee! Roasted on Coffee St in Coffee County, it doesn’t get any fresher! Our coffee is specifically roasted for Templar Shooting Sports, located at 1101 S Jackson St in Tullahoma. Our three blends are roasted special for the quality flavor and freshness any coffee lover desires. Delivered to us within 48 hours of roasting!

When you purchase any blend of Crusader Coffee, not only are you getting locally roasted, fresh coffee, you’re supporting your local economy and a cause worthy of all Americans. 10% of all profit from Crusader Coffee goes directly to A Soldiers Child foundation, founded and located in Smyrna, TN. They are a local charity whose mission is to celebrate the life of children who have lost a parent, while on active duty. Each child sponsored receives a birthday celebration worthy of the honor and sacrifice their family has made for our nation.

From Amy at Solace Farms:
We are picking up the next batch of grass-fed Scottish Highland beef this week! To clear the freezers, we are running a special on beef roasts this week only – 20% off all shoulder, rump, and round roasts! Spring is coming soon, but there will still be a few more chilly days, just perfectly suited to a hearty stew, chili, pot roast, or crockpot meal.

And from Pam at Macks’ Mushrooms:
Look at these huge Shiitake mushrooms that Corey and Mack are growing on the farm. These are very delicious mushrooms. We eat them often in our omelets and in dishes we make. Fresh mushrooms are so much tastier than canned mushrooms.

Dawson Local Harvest:  The Return of Turnips!

Dawson Local Harvest for March 3rd

The Return of Turnips!

HI EVERYBODY!

We’d like to welcome back our delicious friends Turnips! The white Hakurei are absolutely gorgeous, but the Scarlet Queen when sliced and added to a salad presents lovely white-with-red-swirls highlights which makes for a stunningly attractive dish (tastes great, too!). They rejoin Bok Choi, Collards, Kale, and Spinach in the Vegetable section this week.

Have you heard of Egglands Best Eggs, the supposedly superior supermarket Eggs? Well, we can do you one better with FIVE HENS FARMS Free-range Eggs. For about the same price as Egglands you’ll get superb all-natural deep-golden yolk Eggs that taste truly amazing. Try them and see what you’ve been missing!

THE MARKET IS NOW OPEN!

REMEMBER! You can now order until Tuesday night at 9pm. Pick up your order at Leilani’s Gardens Friday afternoons from 4 to 7pm.

You’ll find the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST at http://dawsonville.locallygrown.net

We thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible! We guarantee your satisfaction with all products in the DAWSON LOCAL HARVEST.

Have a happy and healthy week!

Duette, FL:  Stir-fry Broccoli

Our featured vegetable this week is broccoli florets. After the main broccoli head is harvested, the plaant produces two smaller versions that branch from the stem where the head was cut. These small florets are perfect for stir-fry and vegetable platters as well as steamed as a side dish.
Please have a look at what we offer this week and place your orders.
Thank you.
