Princeton Farm Fresh: The Market is Open
Spring and all of its crazy weather is here. I am just dying to get plants in the ground outside, but hesitate to when one week it is in the 30s and the next in the 60s, I guess this is why I like growing in high tunnels so much. It allows me to plant earlier and have more available all year long.
Don’t forget that our Traditional Farmers Market Meeting is this evening at 7pm at the Caldwell County Extension Office. We would love to see you come out if you have produce, arts and crafts, or another producer in our area who would like to have more info about this market.
Hope to see you this evening,
Angela
Cook Farm: Cook Farm
Hi All from the farm.
We are very thankful to receive the rain just at the right time-and a perfect rain to settle in the new seeds of spinach in the shade garden. Larry also planted clover as a cover/green manure in the area we plan to plant corn, squash and melons.
I hope those of you who ordered last week are happy with your purchase. I desire to provide for you just what I would expect. If you are ever not happy please let me know!
It is slim picking in my experimental winter garden for spinach and kale. If I knew back in October of 2015 that it would do so well I would have planted more.:) Remember Tuesday at 8 p.m. is the deadline to get your order in. Thanks again for supporting our efforts

Greg Hutchins of Heritage Farm has listed Shares for both Pork and Beef (these are great deals)as well as Specials on Chicken Gizzards. The Smoked Ready-to-Eat Pulled Pork is fabulous and the Canadian Bacon is also one of my favorites!
Although Doug of Doug’s Garden will no longer have access to his wonderful space, he has harvested lots of Carrots and is offering them again this week! Per Doug, this will probably be the last time for them because they will start to lose their sweetness. Three different quantities to choose from! These are YUMMY!
Vicky and Steve of Fry Farm are back on the Market this week! Vicky is trying something new this year! Veggies Boxes. This week Vicky has listed: Green Garlic, Red Russian Kale, Lettuce Mix, Popcorn, Cherry Belle Radishes, Spinach, Sunchokes, Swiss Chard and Tatsoi. Reading Vicky’s description of Tatsoi last week inspired me to order! Sauteed it with onions and a Granny Smith Apple! YUMMY!

Peru Online Winter Farmers Market: online ordering now open
Good evening following a couple of gorgeous days (at least in the hoophouse). This may be the last week for spinach. So, stock up on spinach, and freeze some. Spinach does not like lengthening days, so I am not going to fight it with spring spinach seedlings. I do have asian greens slowly growing, maybe (or maybe not yet) for next time.
North Country Creamery’s cows are no longer “on vacation”, so they have plenty of dairy products.
Irina has a great variety of high quality snacks.
Enjoy. We will be open for orders through Tuesday evening.
