Carolina Foothills, SC:  Closing Market

Hello.

Awhile back I was informed that I was too personal on here and it came off as “creepy”.

I want to explain myself but honestly, there is so much happening and it would quite literally take more time then I have right now to explain…. And I don’t want to creep anyone out.

I have spent days going back and forth and trying to come up with ideas to make this work but right now I am so overwhelmed I spend more time bursting into tears from stress.

Something’s gotta give… Or in this case…. Go.

I have to choose priorities and this is at the very bottom. I am being pulled in several different directions and don’t even know where I will be week to week ( here or out of town).

I’m sorry everyone. I’m sorry Marantha. I never wanted to give up or have it end this way but I can’t see a way around it.

Susan.

Spa City Local Farm Market Co-op:  The market is now open for ordering

The Spa City Co-op market is now open for ordering at spacity.locallygrown.net. Please place your orders before Tuesday at 9 pm, and plan to pick up your orders at Emergent Arts on Saturday March 5th from Noon to 2:00PM, the earlier the better. If you’re unable to pick up your order at this time please make arrangements to have your order picked up for you.
Don’t forget – this market has no paid positions, so we NEED VOLUNTEERS to run every market. It’s fun, you get a $5 gift card, and you learn so much about local foods in Arkansas.

NEWS AND NOTES

This week, Corey Mack Raper of Macks’ Mushrooms has a question for all our customers. As he explains it:
My circumstance is kind of unique in that if somebody places an order with Macks’ it will be 5-14 days before I can have the mushrooms ready. Therefore, customers would order one week, and pick up at the market either one or two weeks later, depending on the growing cycle. Given this information, would you be interested in ordering mushrooms from Macks’? Thanks for helping this farmer to make plans.

Yes, you certainly can eat healthy meals in the winter! This is the place to find wonderful winter vegetables, delicious pork, beef, and chicken cuts, dried herbs, rich creamline milk, organic free-range eggs, raw local honey, jams and jellies.

This is the last week to save $25 on a CSA share from White City Produce. Tami has also added summer shares, which will be available until March 30th.

It’s great to be able to get locally grown foods in the winter. But our farmers’ market is not just about eating healthy. Please take note of some of the other types of products on this market, all locally produced. We have a great selection of hand crafted farm products, candles, essential oils, bath & beauty products, baled hay, and house and garden plants.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse has listed some of the very early blooming perennial plants. And this week the daffodil bouquets are back! They will be in limited supply this week, but if you miss out, there will be more next week.

Stop by Square Books soon and see our MLG Table, with lots of non-perishable farm products for sale. Pick up some honey, jam or jelly, hand lotion, herbal tea, or a basket of herb plants to enjoy this winter.

(L to R) Several cuts of Grass fed Angus and Kobe style beef from Paccman Ranch, Several different types of Community-Supported Agriculture shares from various farmers, Daffodil bouquet and Pink-and-yellow Primrose from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse.

Thanks so much for your support of Manchester Locally Grown Market, and your friends and neighbors who have grown and produced these items. Please encourage our local farmers by helping to spread the word about our wonderful market to everyone you know. We offer a great variety of local farm products, and our items will be in your hands in time to plan for the weekend. Although the Saturday markets are closed for the season, wonderful local products are available for ordering from the comfort of your own computer.

More new farmers are considering joining our market, if they can expect enough sales to help pay their transportation costs.
