Hello!

We’ve got a great week of veggies for you – lots of greens and winter squash varieties to choose from, as well as a number crop of purple hull pleas! These are field peas you will need to shell, but after shelling are easy to freeze!

This week Tally has been out of town so there will be no flower offerings this week – however the flowers will be back next week with lots of beautiful marigolds!

Wedge Oak Farm is hosting a Farm to Table Dinner at their Farm on October 30th! This dinner features chef Trey Ciocca from Farmhouse Restaurant. You can get tickets and more info at historiclebanontn.org

HI EVERYONE!

HAPPY AUTUMN, almost! Lots of ultra-fresh super-yummy Vegetables to tell you about! In The Market this week, you’ll find lots of different Lettuces, including varieties of Reds, Greens, Salad Mix, and Romaine, a bit of Swiss Chard, the delicious Hakurei white Turnips, which is a sweet, fruity-tasting Turnip excellent in salads or sauteed’, Pak Choi for you Asian stir-fry fans, slicing Cucumbers are back, and there’s plenty more to fill your dinner table.

We also have Fresh-frozen wild-caught Georgia white Shrimp from TOM’S AWESOME SHRIMP right up out of Darien, GA, lots of FIVE HENS’ free-range Eggs, raw Milk from LITTLE BROWN COW, and that’s just the beginning. Happy rainy morning!! While the rain desperately needed, I am sure the folks who attending “Wine Around the Square” last night were happy that it waited to drop!

The cast of The Legend of Pocahontas performed a wonderful number!

Speaking of the Center for the Arts, Suite Surrender, a comedy, opened this weekend and features TWO of our Market makers, Mandy and Michael Jones of Ridiculous Chocolate.

Chef Jenny with Seeds of Success will have Carrot Ginger Soup! This soup combines local baby ginger, carrots, SOS Tur-miracle (turmeric seasoning) together to create an antioxidant rich soup. Enjoy it warm or cold. It can also be served over quinoa, rice, pasta, or veggies!

Valentine Family Farm has added some wonderful new pickles Three Sisters Mix (two varieties) and a spicy version! Be sure to check these out and how creatively delicious this family’s products are!

SweetPea added Chestnuts! Large bag and small bag!

Get some exquisite cut flowers from Erdmann Farm John also has great cucumbers for slicing or pickling!

Rainbow Hill has several varieties of apples! Don’t miss your chance to have these incredible, local, in-season apples while they last!
